Syneilesis aconitifolia
Syneilesis aconitifolia
Here is something perhaps not so typical. I planted it in 2006 and watched the show: first the fuzzy start that pushes up in March; then the unfolding but still fuzzy; then by June the fuzzy has disappeared and the umbrellas have unfurled. In the second year I got the surprise of the bloom; a long, central spike that lasts a good 6-8 weeks. Nothing glorius but definitely curious. The foilage is what it is all about! In mostly a shady spot and kept moist.
