Smoke tree/bush or Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' with colorful panicles of the spent flowers.

Interesting side information: When added to tin and alum the wood and bark chips will produce a clear yellow dye....used since the Middle Ages. Altering the additive will produce more hues(pink to orange);mix it with indigo.....a rich green.
